Ross Leather and Wood

Slim began leather craft 30 years ago when a friend asked if he wanted to buy some old tools. He had been travelling around New Zealand in a house truck, doing odd jobs and experiencing life. This provided the opportunity and time to teach himself different styles and techniques of leather craft. Soon the commissions and requests for personalised gifts started to come in. Slim’s workshop is in the basement of his house. And so his fabulous story continues as he embarks on a new period finding joy in working with leather and wood as a full time job.

Studio Candice Lau

Working with clients such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Facebook, Heals, Squire and Partners and many others, we customise each individual group workshop to the needs of our clients. Such as a special bookbinding workshop we organised for Modus along with a fellow bookbinder, the wreath making workshop using Ultrafabric’s own materials for their Christmas VIP event, the Macbook case making workshop for the Facebook team, or the one day workshop for the Victoria and Albert Museum where we took inspiration from a current exhibition. We customise each workshop to fit the group in terms of size, abilities, time and product they wish to make.
