This change is about more than just a name or a visual identity. Whilst we retain our 110 year-old core purpose of representing the interests of the British tanneries, as laid out in our strategy, we have widened our remit to include supporting and promoting the interests of the entire leather supply chain in the UK.A lot of consultation has gone into our new look, copies of our rebranding rationale document are available on request. We'll be showcasing our new look at the Pure Origin exhibition in London's Olympia this weekend - so expect to see many photos on Twitter (@leather_UK).
We still have much to do; such as building our new website, the British Leather Directory and other major projects to achieve in 2019, but Rome wasn't built in a day and we're committed to delivering all of our strategic aims on behalf of the industry as soon as possible.
Lastly, here is the first in a series of three mini animations we have developed for the industry in conjunction with the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies. We're aiming this at young consumers - please tell us what you think?
