As many of you will know, the newly relocated Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) facility opens at the University of Northampton in the third week of September.
This shiny new facility is bigger and better than before - and we are inviting you to TWO events there that week, so pay attention - this could get complicated...?!
- The first event is a Leather UK members-only event on Tuesday 17th September between 10 - 4; where we will have a tour of the tannery, master leather craftsman Nigel Armitage will demonstrate the tricky box stitch, a spokesperson from the Department for International Trade will discuss exporting and a marketing expert will discuss hints and tips for staying ahead of the online game whilst busy with making. A number of members have registered interest already and will be receiving joining instructions at the start of September - if you haven't yet registered please email jessicaaiers@leatheruk.org.
- The second event is the UK workshop for the EU-funded Social & Environmental Reporting 2020 (SER) Project, running from 09.30 - 13.00, followed by a lunch and tour of the facility. The workshop will be limited to 30 attendees, so early expressions of interest are advised, full details of the programme are available here.
Both events are free of charge, but the first does require you to be a Leather UK member.
We could look forward to welcoming you to Northampton this September!
