UK transition period chemicals updates: 23 December 2020

This HSE bulletin contains information on how the regulation of chemicals will change after the UK transition period ends, and resources to help make sure your business is prepared.

The session will open from 10.00am to ensure attendees have enough time to join the platform - it will start at 10:15am and finish by 1.00pm. The event will include:

  • Sessions led by HSE on the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) and Prior Informed Consent (PIC) regimes
  • Sessions led by HSE and Defra on Plant Protection Products (PPP) and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH)

The event will inform attendees of the duties and actions required by businesses to ensure that they comply with the new GB chemical regimes. The sessions will be interactive and will host a question and answer function. To allow as many organisations as possible to attend, we kindly ask that you send a maximum of two representatives.

Guidance on regulating chemicals after the transition period
The UK Transition period will end on 1 January 2021.Businesses working with chemicals need to ensure they are prepared for the end of the transition period.
