There are free places available for attending the final conference of the EU-funded Social & Environmental Reporting Project, 2020 (SER2020).
The SER2020 project and report is a follow up to the very successful report produced in 2012 (SER2012). The project and report are very important in presenting the UK and EU leather sectors to our stakeholders and to government. The ability to demonstrate the high levels of social and environmental practice associated with our sector is clearly of value in reassuring our customers that the leather they buy in Europe is manufactured to the highest possible standards. An accurate and current overview of the size and activity of the sector is also essential in our approaches to governments, demonstrating that, while small, we are part of an important and valuable supply chain, creating wealth and jobs in the UK and EU. Furthermore, that we are doing so, sustainably.
The final project meeting and conference will take place in Vienna on the 16th of June, and there is funding available to support the attendance of 20 delegates. This funding will cover economy air travel, necessary local travel such as a train travel an airport, one night’s accommodation (max 130€), but excludes taxis and subsistence. The funding will only cover one delegate per company.
COTANCE (the European Association) will allocate the available funding. As the project involves a number of other countries, not all requests for funding will be met. However, delegates are welcome to fund their own travel to the conference if they so choose.
Successful applicants will be advised in due course.
