The Leather & Hide Trades' Benevolent Institution (LHTBI) was founded in 1860 for the purpose of providing the financial "relief of necessitous persons" in the leather industry. 160 years later the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been huge, leaving many small businesses in the industry concerned about the future of their livelihoods.
In such unprecedented and uncertain times, the LHTBI are making a COVID Hardship Grant available to help people who need extra support to keep afloat, by offering one-off financial assistance payments of between £500 - £2,000 towards essential living expenses.
The eligibility criteria provide the LHTBI Trustees with the appropriate flexibility to respond to and accommodate novel circumstances in the rapidly changing context of Covid-19. However, please note that the fund is for UK registered leather industry businesses only; is not intended to replace regular income, nor is it for investment in business commitments.
Please email lhtbisecretary@gmail.com for an initial enquiry form. All applications will be reviewed by committee on Tuesday 27th October.
