A Centre for Artisan Accessory and Leather Makers - can you help?

We recently received some great news about our bid to the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund to develop A Centre for Artisan Accessory and Leather Makers providing business space and training opportunities for leather and accessories craftspeople in East London. The centre will provide opportunities for small businesses to develop and grow, and provide facilities for the training and skills development required by this unique sector.

The Stage One application has been successful and we have been asked to prepare a Stage Two bid for submission in the first week of February.

If we are successful at this stage, we may be awarded a significant sum towards the project which aims to create a specialist centre for leather and accessories craftsmanship. The centre will support the continued development of the ‘Made in the UK’ movement, link high quality British making with fashion design and manufacture, and pass on artisan skills to the next generation of makers.

We need your help!

It is vital we provide evidence of the strength of our sector, and our ambitions to grow in preparation for the stage two bid. Please could you spare 4 minutes of your time to answer this very short survey before the end of Tuesday 21st January it will be invaluable in supporting the development of a new space for leather and accessory industry.

The survey can be found here.
