On Friday 3rd May the Committee on Climate Change published the report "Net Zero: The UK’s contribution to stopping global warming".
At 277 pages it's quite a read, and there are a number of recommendations that require serious consideration. One such recommendation for personal actions to reduce the impact of individuals is to, ‘Choose good quality products that will last, use them for longer and try to repair before you replace.’ I think we can all agree on a sustainable, biodegradable, long-lasting material that fits the bill here?
A further point to note is the graph on page 49 of the report - showing that focusing on agriculture for climate change - like the majority of the world's press at present - is to ignore most of the problem.
