Leather UK were asked to exhibit at the Fabrics & Raw Materials sourcing section of the Pure London show, Pure Origin, at London's Olympia between 10 - 12 February 2019.
We took the opportunity to showcase some of our members' work on our 3 x 3 metre stand which received plenty of interest from exhibition visitors. We were delighted to host leather goods by Billy Tannery and Charles Laurie London, leather jewellery by Tania Clarke-Hall, a range of leather and leather goods from Pittards and information by the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT). Senior lecturer Marc Gummer presented an hour's seminar on responsible leather sourcing, which was very well received.
The event also marked the launch of our new brand identity and our bright, colourful look and feel certainly grabbed attention! Our new animation video was running on a loop alongside other leather-related videos on the stand, this will be available on our website soon.
During the show we were repeatedly asked how to locate sample makers and manufacturers of leather goods. This is another example of why we need to crack on with producing our British Leather Directory, a resource of everything leather!
