2018 Young Leather Scientist Grant -Leather Research Grant Announced by IULTCS

The Executive Committee of the IULTCS is pleased to launch the 2018 Young Leather Scientist Grant. This prestigious grant is to be awarded to a young scientist, under the age of 35, for a leather research project conducted at a recognized institution in 2018. This is the fourth year of the grant and again Lear Corporation will provide the monetary sponsorship with the objective of encouraging new scientists to develop the chemistry, science and technology of leather. An Award of € 1,500 is to be paid as a single sum to the young leather scientist that submits the winning project proposal. The applicant age limit has been increased to 35 years in order that young scientists starting a career with PhDs and Post Doctorate qualifications have an opportunity to apply. The award will be administered by the International Union Research Commission (IUR), currently led by Dr Luis Zugno. Details of the eligibility requirements and Application Form are available on the IULTCS website (www.iultcs.org). The independent Selection Committee is headed by Dr Michael Meyer. The submission deadline is October 31, 2017. The IULTCS requests that readers of this announcement forward the information to those institutions and individuals who could benefit from the award.
