The Confederation of National Associations of Tanners and Dressers of the European Community (COTANCE) is the representative body of the European Leather Industry. Gathering almost all leather producers associations of the EU, connecting over 95% of European tanneries, it is an umbrella organisation with a Secretariat in Brussels and member associations in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, UK.

International Council of Tanners
ICT is the Global organisation for the leather producing industry. ICT was established in 1926, when there was a pressing need to establish a uniform International Contract for the buying and selling of hides, skins and leather in order to facilitate, regulate and promote international trade in the sector.

According to the IULTCS statutes the aims of the Union are to foster cooperation between member societies, to hold congresses to further the advancement of leather science and technology, to form commissions for special studies and to establish international methods of samples and testing leather and materials associated with leather manufacture.

The Worshipful Company of Leathersellers
The Leathersellers’ Company is one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, ranked fifteenth in the order of precedence. It was founded by royal charter in 1444 with authority to control the sale of leather within the City. The Company no longer has this regulatory role, and instead devotes its energies to support for charity, education and the British leather trade.
World Leather, established in 1987, is amongst the world’s leading publications for the leather industry. Published six times a year and three times in Chinese, it is essential reading for tanners, leather traders, manufacturers and the wider industry, featuring essential technical papers, country commentaries, topical articles and special supplements.
